The Village of Oak Park in Illinois is looking for event planning and coordination services for a variety of events throughout the year. This includes, but is not limited to, managing logistics, vendor coordination, and event execution. The selected individual will reside in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area, will be professional, organized, and community-focused. The selected individual will also be experienced in seeking out and contracting with food, equipment, and entertainment vendors, as well as various venues; and experienced with organizing teams and volunteers, and overall logistical planning and execution of events. The events run from June 1st through October 15th. Current events for which planning has begun or will begin include summer events such as Juneteenth Flag Raising Event; Juneteenth Cookout; PRIDE Festival; July 4th Parade, July 4th First Friday Festival. The end-of-summer-into-fall events include Midnight Madness and Hispanic Heritage Month. These events all require outreach to various community partners, various vendors for equipment and food; volunteers for set-up and tear-down as well as activities of the event; and planning of activities for all ages.
