We’re looking for an experienced DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to help us build and scale production-grade cloud infrastructure for a modern data-driven application. This will start as a contract engagement, but for the right candidate, we are open to extending it into a long-term opportunity. Key Responsibilities: • Environment Management: Design, automate, and maintain both test and production environments for a stack that includes Flyte, Python, React, and Postgres. • CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, with deployment into AWS environments (Fargate, EC2, etc.). • Infrastructure as Code: Use AWS CDK or Terraform to automate provisioning of scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure — including autoscaling groups, failover strategies, and teardown routines. • AWS Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize core AWS components (VPCs, IAM policies, security groups, ECS/Fargate), ensuring high availability and security. • Observability & Monitoring: Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding using cloud-native tools. • Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices (e.g., IAM least privilege, VPC isolation, secrets management) with an eye toward SOC 2 readiness. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with data engineering, backend, and frontend teams to streamline deployments and ensure system reliability. • Cost Optimization: Design and implement strategies for cost control, including the use of spot instances, autoscaling policies, and savings plans. Ideal Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering • Strong AWS experience (ECS, Fargate, IAM, CDK/Terraform, VPC, etc.) • Proficiency in infrastructure as code and CI/CD tools • Familiarity with Flyte is a plus, but not required • Experience working in security-conscious, regulated environments is preferred • Strong communication and team collaboration skills Engagement Terms: • Initial contract-based role, with a strong possibility of transitioning into a longer-term or full-time role if there's a mutual fit. • Remote position; flexible hours within a US-overlapping timezone preferred. If you're a highly capable engineer with a strong DevOps mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you.
