Project Overview We’re looking for a skilled Airtable automation developer to support ongoing client projects. We need someone who can jump in quickly, help stabilize and improve existing systems, and build clean, reliable automations across Airtable, Zapier, Make, and related SaaS tools. You’ll be working as part of a small, async-first team that builds and maintains the automation backbone for service-based SMBs. This is not a one-off gig — we’re looking for someone who can be available 5–20 hours per week, with room to grow into more responsibility if the fit is right. Who We Are MapMatix is a lean, high-impact automation consultancy serving growth-stage agencies, service firms, and operationally complex SMBs. Our clients rely on us to eliminate manual work, streamline messy workflows, and make their tech stack actually talk to itself. We specialize in no-code systems — typically spanning Airtable, HubSpot, Pipedrive, ClickUp, Jotform, and more — and run everything on a retained subscription model. Most projects involve real client data, live ops bottlenecks, and custom process logic — not sandbox experiments. What You’ll Be Doing - Audit & improve existing Airtable bases — including views, formulas, automations, and field structure - Build stable integrations using Zapier or Make (Integromat) to connect Airtable with CRMs, forms, schedulers, and email platforms - Troubleshoot bugs, fix broken automations, and improve overall system reliability - Document your builds using Loom and structured notes so others can follow and maintain - Occasionally collaborate with the founder or clients (via Slack or email) to clarify edge cases or review logic Must-Have Skills & Experience - Extensive Airtable experience: formulas, linked records, views, automations, and base design - Strong fluency in Zapier and/or Make for low-code integration building - Solid understanding of data flow logic, conditional paths, and error handling - Comfort working in client-facing or real-time operational contexts - Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in async environments (Slack, Loom, Notion, etc.) Nice-to-Have - Experience with HubSpot, Pipedrive, ClickUp, or similar CRMs - Google Apps Script or JavaScript familiarity - Past experience in SMB automation, operations, or process improvement contexts - U.S. or North America–based (not required, but preferred for time zone alignment) Logistics - Hourly, ongoing work - Starting at 5–10 hours/week, with potential to expand - Must be available during U.S. daytime hours for Slack async and occasional live syncs - Work begins immediately — we’re offboarding a developer and need stable coverage
