iOS App Developer (iPad) for Training Prototype - Grid Control System


Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dependable iOS App Developer / Software Engineer to help build the functional prototype of a custom iPad app that serves as the control interface for an LED-based training system. This role is central to the development of a groundbreaking training tool designed to enhance safety, simulation realism, and first responder preparedness. Note: All work on this project will require signing an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) and IP (Intellectual Property) protection agreement prior to onboarding. Project Description: Our company is developing an innovative training system that includes an LED light grid controlled by a dedicated iPad app. This prototype phase focuses on building the app’s interface, basic functionality, and communication with the LED system using standard protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or other applicable). We are looking for an iOS developer who is comfortable building apps from the ground up in a prototype environment and who thrives in early-stage product creation. Key Responsibilities: Develop a clean, functional iPad-only iOS app prototype (landscape interface) Build an intuitive UI to toggle and control multiple zones (LED indicators) Implement real-time interaction with external LED grid system (via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) Create simple, modular architecture with scenario presets and custom modes Add UI elements: buttons, sliders, visual grid layout, and navigation between pages/screens Support multiple LED color states (off, fire/red, steam/blue, etc.) Provide documentation and basic app flow diagrams for handoff and future development Collaborate on light system integration with our hardware team Project Scope: Start: ASAP Length: Initial contract for prototype (4–6 weeks), with potential for extension Deliverables: Working iPad app prototype + documentation Budget: Competitive, based on experience — include your hourly or fixed rate in your proposal Confidentiality Requirements: Contractor must sign an NDA and IP Assignment Agreement before any project details are disclosed. No screenshots, code, or concepts may be shared outside of this contract.
