Job Description I’m seeking a skilled developer to build a custom application that can take a photo of a tarot card spread and return a marked-up version of that photo, highlighting specific relationships between the cards. The goal is to automate part of the tarot reading process by using computer vision and basic relationship logic to visually map out connections (e.g., positional influences, opposing energies, past/future ties) between cards in a spread. This will be a standalone app or web-based tool (open to your technical recommendation) designed for private use initially, with potential for future public release. Detect and identify: Card locations within the image. Card identities, including upright or reversed orientation (either via image matching or assisted OCR). Recognize and display card relationships based on: Predefined spread logic (e.g., “card 3 influences card 5”). Relative positioning and directionality. Generate a marked-up version of the original image with: Arrows, lines, or other visual markers. Optional tooltips or notes explaining relationships. Bonus Features (not required for MVP but nice to have): Manual override or editing of card detection. Save/export functionality for annotated images. Integration with a simple interpretation ruleset (e.g., basic card meanings). Preferred Technologies OpenCV, TensorFlow, or similar libraries for computer vision. Python, JavaScript, or any modern stack (mobile or web-based). Optional: familiarity with front-end tools (React, Flutter, etc.) for a simple UI. Bonus: prior experience with playing card detection, board game AI, tarot apps, or AR annotations. Ideal Freelancer Proven experience with image recognition, object detection, and/or annotation tools. Can deliver an MVP quickly and iterate based on feedback. Strong communication skills and ability to document the process. Bonus if you have interest in tarot, metaphysics, or visual symbolic systems (not required, but helpful).
