Hello. This is for my daughter, who is in 9th grade and has finished writing her first novel. The book is now in the proofreading stage. She has a plan on what she wants the cover to look like. I am providing a few items below. 1. A summary of what she wants the cover to look like. 2. A summary of the book itself. 3. A summary of the main character (who is on the cover). 4. A summary of the facility where the book takes place. I will also attach a VERY VERY rough sketch that she created to give you a high level idea of what she is thinking. BOOK COVER DESCRIPTION Three stands in front of her cell window, which is made of a plexiglass-like material with a metal frame, reinforced with visible rivets from welding and screws. She is facing away from the viewer, her left hand pressed flat against the window, nearly at the height of her head. Her right hand hangs loosely by her side, palm facing the viewer, holding a golden compass with the needle pointing directly south. Her long brown hair, reaching down to her elbows, is styled in a simple braid—loose around the neck but becoming tighter as it extends down her back. She wears an orange jumpsuit, with the PCP logo in white on the back. The loose-fitting shirt drapes lower on her left arm due to her raised hand, and the bottom hem falls just below her lower back. The pants match the jumpsuit in color, appearing baggy but more fitted at the waist and hips. The fabric extends slightly over her black shoes, though the backs of the shoes remain visible. The cell floor is a deep gray, stone-like material, resembling cracked tiles. The walls share a similar texture but are lighter gray with a slightly metallic, uneven surface. The lighting, which comes from the hallway, is dim but functional, akin to a darkened room with some light filtering in from an adjacent space. Outside the cell, the hallway walls are stark white plaster, evoking the sterile atmosphere of a medical facility. Across the hall, another window is visible, but the interior is empty and unlit. Emerging from the corners of Three’s window, a dark red, fog-like substance seeps into the room, swirling at the height of her ankles, with occasional tendrils rising higher into the air—an ominous sign of something unnatural invading the space. BOOK SUMMARY "Trapped" is a gripping dystopian thriller that follows Three, a young woman imprisoned in a mysterious research facility. Subjected to relentless medical tests and psychological manipulation, Three endures life in a cold, sterile environment where she is more specimen than human. The facility’s scientists, guards, and enigmatic administrators see her as an experiment rather than a patient, refusing to disclose why she is there or what afflicts her. As Three endures painful procedures and brutal interrogations, she discovers her extraordinary ability: the power to shift into a different dimension, known as the Red Dimension—a nightmarish reality that mirrors her own. Her struggle for identity, freedom, and the truth intensifies when she learns she is not alone—others share her fate, though their powers remain unknown. The novel explores themes of control vs. autonomy, human experimentation, and the blurred line between reality and hallucination. The tension builds as Three battles her captors, her own fractured memories, and the sinister forces lurking within the Red Dimension. As she grapples with her terrifying abilities, she must decide: escape or uncover the truth behind the organization that holds her captive. But will she survive long enough to make that choice? MAIN CHARACTER SUMMARY Three is a resilient, sharp-witted, and defiant protagonist, shaped by years of captivity in an inhumane research facility. Her identity stripped away, she clings to the name Three, rejecting the sterile numerical designation assigned to her. She is headstrong and rebellious, often challenging authority, but also deeply introspective, haunted by fleeting memories of a life before imprisonment. Three’s defining trait is her ability to shift into the Red Dimension, a terrifying alternate reality that manifests her fears and subconscious. Her captors fear her power and keep her under strict surveillance, punishing her attempts at resistance. Despite enduring harsh treatment—including electrical shocks and mind-altering drugs—she refuses to be broken. Her appearance is marked by long, unkempt dirty blonde hair, a tattered orange jumpsuit marked with her prisoner number, and a body covered in scars from experiments and punishments. Her defining object is the mystery surrounding her past, fueling both her internal struggles and her external conflicts. Over the course of the novel, she evolves from a defiant prisoner to someone who begins to understand the terrifying potential within herself, questioning whether escape is truly an option—or if she is part of something far more sinister. FACILITY SUMMARY (Facility name = PCP) PCP is the shadowy organization behind Three’s imprisonment, a clandestine research entity that operates within a high-security facility. PCPs purpose is chillingly clear: to experiment on individuals with extraordinary abilities, pushing the boundaries of human cognition, biology, and interdimensional travel. PCP maintains absolute control over its test subjects, treating them as prisoners rather than patients. Scientists conduct relentless tests on Three, attempting to harness her ability to enter the Red Dimension, an alternate reality with unknown properties. Guards enforce compliance with brutal efficiency, using tasers, restraints, and psychological torment to suppress resistance. Visually, PCP’s facility is a bleak, industrial labyrinth of sterile white corridors, reinforced metal doors, and shadowed observation rooms. The environment exudes oppression—dim lighting, towering steel walls, and the constant hum of machinery create a suffocating atmosphere. The Red Dimension itself, a grotesque mirror of this world. PCP is more than just a research lab, it is a prison, a machine of control, and possibly the key to unlocking the truth about Three’s powers. But what is its ultimate goal? And why does it fear what Three is becoming? BOOK TITLE ("Trapped") Title: the title is Trapped in a bold font in the center of the top of the cover. My name will be under it in smaller letters off to the side like in the photo.
