Position Summary: The Placement Specialist is responsible for guiding individuals who are actively seeking employment by providing hands-on support with resume development, job search strategy, interview preparation, and building job-readiness skills. This coach plays a key role in helping clients take ownership of their career journey and land meaningful employment through a combination of tactical support and mindset coaching. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and group coaching to job-seeking clients, incorporating our proprietary method • Guide clients in developing strong resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles tailored to their goals • Prepare clients for interviews through mock interviews, feedback, and confidence-building exercises • Support job search strategy including outreach, applications, and follow-up communication • Identify individual client barriers and co-create plans to overcome them (e.g. gaps in experience, mindset challenges, confidence, time management) • Track client progress and outcomes using internal systems and tools • Collaborate with training partners and case managers to ensure a coordinated support experience • Contribute to ongoing improvement of coaching tools, workshops, and materials • Serve as a motivating, professional, and reliable presence in clients’ employment journey Required Qualifications: • 2+ years of experience in career coaching, workforce development, HR/recruiting, or related field • Proven ability to write and edit resumes and cover letters that get results • Strong understanding of job search trends, employer expectations, and hiring processes • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals facing employment barriers • Commitment to our mission and methods of performance and upward mobility for all • Comfort with digital tools and tracking systems (CRM or case management systems) Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with coaching frameworks (e.g., GROW, motivational interviewing, etc.) • Knowledge of labor market information, workforce systems, or employer engagement • Bilingual a plus (Spanish, French, etc.) Performance Metrics May Include: • % of clients placed in employment within 90 days • Client resume/interview readiness scores • Coaching engagement and attendance rates • Client satisfaction and recommendation scores
