MCU and PCB Design for Advanced Mouse Project

We are seeking a skilled engineer to assist in designing the microcontroller unit (MCU) and printed circuit board (PCB) for an innovative mouse project. The ideal candidate will have experience in both hardware design and firmware development, ensuring seamless integration of components. Your expertise will play a crucial role in bringing our cutting-edge design to life. We’re developing a first-of-its-kind wireless input device that combines smart interaction, advanced touch features, and adaptive feedback. We are looking for a hardware engineer with experience in: • ESP32-S3 (or similar Wi-Fi/BLE microcontrollers) • Custom PCB design in KiCad • Battery management (MCP73831 or equivalent) • Touch sensors and SPI displays • Haptic feedback drivers (DRV2667 preferred) • USB-C integration • (Bonus) Experience with wireless charging systems or optical sensors Scope of Work: • Review and optimize an existing KiCad schematic (complete with all major components) • Design and layout a compact, production-aware 4-layer PCB • Ensure clean routing for USB, SPI, and power planes • Help prepare for prototype manufacturing (Gerber files, BOM, and if possible, source parts and assembly quotes) Deliverables: • Finalized KiCad project files (.sch, .kicad_pcb, .BOM) • Properly labeled and reviewed schematic • DRC/clearance-verified PCB layout • Ready-for-manufacture files (Gerbers, Pick & Place, etc.) Confidentiality: All project details shared will be protected by a mutual NDA. Patent applications are underway, and sensitive design details will only be disclosed after signing. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, creative in solving layout challenges, and confident in building future-facing products.
