Job Title: Contract Network Administrator & Security Expert (60–90 Day Engagement) Location: On-site at Client Facility in Cherry Hill, NJ Contract Duration: 60 to 90 days Contract Start Date: April 1st - 8th Work Schedule: Flexible Employment Type: Independent Contractor Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator and Security Expert for a 60–90 day contract engagement. The primary purpose of this role is to lead the network transition and takeover from another organization and ensure the integrity, stability, and security of the client’s IT infrastructure during this critical period. This is a hands-on, on-site role that requires advanced technical knowledge, a strong security mindset, and the ability to work in a dynamic and sensitive environment. Key Responsibilities: Assess, document, and assume control of the existing network infrastructure. Lead the transition and takeover of network systems from the current IT provider or internal department. Audit, secure, and validate all network configurations, firewall rules, VPN tunnels, and endpoint protections. Identify and mitigate any potential security vulnerabilities or gaps. Monitor network performance, implement improvements, and ensure system uptime. Collaborate with internal teams, third-party vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition. Create documentation for network layout, configurations, security protocols, and administrative access. Provide guidance on best practices for ongoing security posture and network management. Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a Network Administrator or Network Security Expert in mid-to-large scale environments. Strong expertise in firewalls, routers, switches, VLANs, VPNs, and endpoint security. Deep knowledge of network security protocols, intrusion prevention/detection systems, and risk mitigation strategies. Experience with Microsoft, Cisco, Ubiquiti, and/or Fortinet environments preferred. Ability to work independently, manage a high-stakes project, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.) are highly desirable. Additional Details: Must be available to work on-site at the client facility throughout the engagement. A background check and/or NDA may be required due to the sensitive nature of the work. This is a 1099 contractor position; hourly or project-based compensation will be discussed based on experience.
