Responsibilities Design and produce static data visualizations using R, ggplot2, and CORI’s in-house theming package, cori.charts. Analyze socioeconomic datasets from public sources such as the American Community Survey (ACS), Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Collaborate with CORI’s data scientists and researchers to translate complex data findings into clear, accessible visuals. Ensure visualizations are consistent with CORI’s design standards and editorial voice. Proven experience using R for data analysis and static data visualization. Advanced proficiency with ggplot2 and producing publication-quality graphics and maps. Strong design instincts and attention to visual clarity, accessibility, and narrative. Comfortable working in a collaborative environment using Git/GitHub for version control. Bonus: Experience with web-based visualizations (e.g., TypeScript, D3.js, Mapbox GL) is a plus, but not required.
