I'm looking for an experienced web app developer familiar with Supabase and Replit to help fix and improve an AI-powered nutrition web app called MacroTasty. MacroTasty adjusts the portion sizes of recipes to match users’ desired macronutrient targets. While the core functionality is in place, a few bugs and limitations are holding the platform back from being fully user-friendly and scalable. Key Tasks / Issues to Fix: -Some recipe outputs include ingredients with a portion of 0, which should default to the minimum usable portion (e.g., 1 tsp, 5g, etc.). -This needs to be corrected algorithmically to ensure realistic and usable recipe outputs. -The app currently recommends the same small set of recipes repeatedly, even though there are 5,000+ recipes in the database. -We need to implement better randomization, variety logic, or rotation mechanisms to surface more of the recipe catalog to users. -Future-proofing for scalability (ability to add more recipes to the database easily) is a plus. -Help implement measurement conversion logic to avoid impractical units like “0.04 tsp” or “0.08 cup.” -Assist with performance optimization, UI/UX tweaks, or adding new recipe upload tools. What I'm Looking For: -Proven experience working with Supabase and Replit -Ability to troubleshoot and fix backend logic and API/database behavior -Clear communication and proactive problem-solving -A collaborative approach with attention to user experience Deliverables: -A working and tested version of the app that no longer includes 0-portion ingredients -Improved variety/randomness in recipe suggestions, addition of more recipes -Brief documentation or notes for any code added or changed Budget: -Flexible depending on experience and scope (please include an estimate in your proposal)
