I am looking for a talented web developer in Atlanta, GA. I am open to candidates not in Atlanta if you are truly exceptional and a great communicator. All candidates must reside in the United States or Canada. In the role I'm trying to fill, you will work alongside our client's internal web team, helping them to deploy web components and content on their website. The contract would be at least 6 months, 20 hours per week and it is a remote position. The primary focus of this role is to build, edit, and maintain pages within the OpenText Content Management System (CMS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing new modules (Dynamic Component References - DCRs), editing existing modules, and ensuring all web content adheres to accessibility standards (WCAG). Key Responsibilities Page Building: Develop, configure, and maintain web pages using OpenText CMS, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines. Module Management: Implement new modules (DCRs) and update existing ones based on business requirements. Content Updates: Collaborate with content creators and designers to update and publish web content efficiently and accurately. Web Accessibility: Ensure all web content complies with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1), performing regular audits and implementing fixes as needed. Quality Assurance: Test web pages and modules for functionality, usability, and compatibility across multiple browsers and devices. Collaboration: Work closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders to align on project requirements and deadlines. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues within the CMS environment, escalating complex problems when necessary. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of page structures, modules, and processes for team reference. Required Skills and Experience: • 2+ years experience in web/front-end development. • Familiarity with OpenText CMS or other enterprise content management systems. • Experience with building and configuring Dynamic Component References (DCRs). • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and XML. • Knowledge of web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices. • Knowledge of best practices for web performance, and SEO • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Familiarity with browser debugging tools. • Knowledge of responsive design principles.
