Optimize and reformat API response in create-react-app

I have a working create-react-app project that fetches a list of news articles from an API, and populates them on the homepage, very basic stuff as i'm still learning React. Currently I have most of the logic living in a single JS file. What I would like is for you to optimize my project with: Breaking up components into their own separate files if needed as a best practice. Take the API response and format it into separate sections on the homepage (for example display the first article in the API response as a main section on the homepage with image and title. More info to come).
