Job Overview We are seeking an Ecommerce Analytics Expert with deep experience in configuring data layers, tracking pixels, and analytics tools across multiple platforms, with a strong emphasis on Shopify. This role is responsible for setting up, managing, and optimizing tracking implementations to ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and insights for ecommerce performance. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics (GA4), Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and other tracking solutions, as well as experience implementing server-side tracking for improved data accuracy and privacy compliance. Key Responsibilities • Tracking & Data Layer Configuration • Implement and manage Google Tag Manager (GTM) setups, ensuring proper event tracking across web and app platforms. • Configure and maintain data layers to capture enhanced ecommerce data, customer behavior, and conversion events. • Develop and deploy custom scripts for tracking implementation when required. • Analytics & Reporting • Set up and configure Google Analytics 4 (GA4), ensuring proper event tracking, goal conversions, and audience segmentation. • Develop custom reports and dashboards in Google Analytics, Looker Studio, or other BI tools to visualize ecommerce performance. • Work closely with marketing, product, and development teams to analyze user behavior, optimize funnels, and improve conversion rates. • Tracking Pixels & Attribution • Implement and optimize tracking pixels for Meta (Facebook), Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, and other ad platforms. • Ensure proper UTM tracking and attribution modeling to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. • Set up server-side tracking solutions to enhance data accuracy and mitigate cookie loss. • Shopify Integration • Implement Shopify-specific tracking, ensuring seamless integration with third-party analytics and marketing platforms. • Work with Shopify apps, themes, and Liquid templates to inject data layers and custom tracking scripts. • Troubleshoot and optimize Shopify tracking issues to ensure accurate order and revenue tracking. • Privacy & Compliance • Ensure tracking implementations comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy regulations. • Implement cookie consent management solutions and handle data retention policies for analytics tools. Required Skills & Experience • 3+ years of experience in ecommerce analytics, data tracking, or a related field. • Strong expertise in Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and Google Ads conversion tracking. • Hands-on experience with Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Pinterest Tag, and other ad platform pixels. • Deep understanding of Shopify tracking and experience working with Shopify Liquid, webhooks, and APIs. • Knowledge of server-side tracking and event forwarding solutions. • Familiarity with UTM tracking, attribution modeling, and multi-touch attribution analysis. • Experience working with A/B testing and CRO tools like Google Optimize, VWO, or Optimizely. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot tracking inconsistencies. • Basic JavaScript skills for custom tracking script implementations (preferred). • Experience with data visualization tools like Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus. Nice-to-Have • Experience with headless Shopify implementations (Hydrogen, Remix, Next.js). • Understanding of BigQuery and advanced SQL for deep analytics insights. • Exposure to customer data platforms (CDPs) like Segment or Elevar.
