Role: Education Specialist ROLE We are looking for a responsible, friendly, and enthusiastic self-starter, who is equal parts efficiency fanatic, empathetic customer service maven, and results-driven salesperson. The primary job of the education specialist is to guide new and existing clients on what kind of tutoring or coaching they may need and then connect them with the vetted tutors who engage with the IVY platform. The candidate will also sell tutoring packages and charge clients as needed. To excel at this job and have fun doing it, the candidate must be a people-person and team player who loves learning new things, extremely detail-oriented, and geek out on providing rave-worthy customer service. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Answer client calls/texts/emails and help guide leads to becoming loyal clients. - Be comfortable and quick in toggling between email, phone, Slack, and Excel, and open to learning new technology/platforms needed to run the day-to-day business. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of both the company offerings and K-12 education to make thoughtful recommendations to prospective clients. - Post new client needs on IVY’s platform for tutors. - Match tutors with clients and introduce tutors to their students. - Sell tutoring packages and bill families. - Resolve any issues/questions that tutors and clients have. - Attend and contribute to weekly meetings with a supportive and fun team REQUIREMENTS - College degree. - Self-motivated person with natural problem-solving capabilities and a positive mindset. - Written and oral English fluency with superb communication skills, engaging presence and at ease presenting to diverse groups and people. - Must identify strongly with these adjectives: enthusiastic, collaborative, confident, action-oriented, supportive, detailed-oriented, and results-driven. - 1+ years experience in customer service and/or sales (closing deals, not cold calling or opening deals) and/or experience with the NYC education system - Work New York hours, preferably some evenings and weekend mornings (total 20-40 hours per week) - Must have CRM and Excel/Google Docs experience and like learning new technology, implementing automations, and driving efficiently through process and technology - Team player with a positive attitude who is invested in helping the company grow and succeed and is looking to grow with the company. - Optional experience: Canva, Zapier, Excel, Mailchimp, video editing, social media management
