# Fractional System Administrator for DoD Project (US Citizens Only) ## Overview We're seeking a part-time, remote System Administrator to support our DoD contract. The ideal candidate will be flexible with hours, available for occasional after-hours work, and capable of managing critical infrastructure with minimal supervision. This is an ongoing position with variable workload (3-40 hours per week) based on project needs. We're looking to fill this position immediately. ## Required Qualifications The following requirements are mandatory and non-negotiable. Substitutes not listed will not be considered. - US Citizenship (mandatory for DoD work) - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Systems Engineering, or related field - Current certifications (must be in good standing): - ISC2 CISSP - CompTIA CySA+ - AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - 3+ years of DoD experience with cybersecurity policies, NIST, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) - 3+ years of experience in cyber and information technology operations/management - System administration experience in cross-platform environments (Linux/Windows) - Strong knowledge of AWS services (such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, Load Balancers, MQ, IAM, etc) - Experience with networking protocols and security methodologies - Proficiency in detecting host/network intrusions and vulnerability remediation ## Preferred Qualifications - Professional AWS Certification: - AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional - AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty - AWS Certified Security - Specialty - Experience in incident response, compliance, and security through direct DoD employment ## Responsibilities - Manage AWS cloud infrastructure with minimal downtime - Architect solutions that optimize performance, security, and cost-effectiveness - Implement and enforce security standards compliant with NIST RMF - Configure/monitor security systems (firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS) - Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation - Design and implement complex networking solutions - Enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments - Create comprehensive documentation for architecture and disaster recovery - Implement monitoring solutions for proactive issue identification ## Additional Requirements - Must be able to pass a Tier 3 (Public Trust) background investigation - Must pass a criminal background check - Available for team meetings (minimum 3 hours per week) ## Work Details - 100% remote (must work from within the United States) - Flexible schedule with support for after-hours work - Ongoing contract with potential for long-term relationship - Hourly pay rate based on experience and qualifications ## Why Work With Us - Ongoing project work with a dedicated, high-performance, team - Flexible scheduling to accommodate your other clients - Clear project goals and tickets for focused work - Opportunity to apply advanced skills in secure environments - Minimal meetings, maximum productivity
