The CCO will act as a key advisor to the leadership team, responsible for staying ahead of regulatory developments and ensuring our operations align with best practices in fintech and sweepstakes law. ⸻ Responsibilities • Own and maintain all AML/KYC policies and procedures, ensuring they are comprehensive, up-to-date, and aligned with regulatory requirements. • Oversee the implementation of onboarding and ongoing monitoring processes for users to ensure compliance with applicable laws. • Provide ongoing risk assessments and compliance reviews to identify gaps or improvements. • Act as Coverd’s designated compliance officer for any financial partners, auditors, or regulators. • Monitor and interpret evolving fintech, sweepstakes, and financial compliance regulations at the state and federal levels. • Periodically meet with the executive team (e.g. quarterly or as needed) to review compliance reports, updates, and strategic risks. • Assist in training and education of internal staff on compliance matters. • Coordinate with legal counsel and external compliance vendors where appropriate. ⸻ Qualifications • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or in a similar role in fintech, banking, or gaming/sweepstakes environments. • Deep understanding of U.S. AML/KYC frameworks and experience implementing these at a company level. • Experience with sweepstakes, prize-linked products, or financial promotional models is a strong plus. • Familiarity with BSA, OFAC, and other relevant regulations. • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a dynamic startup environment. • Strong communication and leadership skills for interfacing with executive stakeholders. • JD or relevant certification (e.g. CAMS) is preferred but not required.
