We are seeking an experienced and innovative IoT developer (or development team) to design and prototype a fully integrated end-to-end IoT solution tailored for deployment in challenging marine environments. Project Scope: The goal is to develop a ruggedized, low-power sensor node with LoRa connectivity, capable of reliably monitoring environmental and electrical conditions. The prototype must be designed for marine use, with robust hardware integration and secure data transmission to a private LoRaWAN network. Core Node Requirements: Sensors: Internal temperature sensor (mounted on enclosure for increased sensitivity) Internal IR flame sensor (must work in tandem with temp sensor to reduce false alarms) External float switch (open/close state) External 12/24VDC battery voltage monitoring Connectivity: LoRaWAN radio (US915 band) with external antenna Waterproof 8-pin M12 connector for external sensor interfaces Display: Monochrome OLED display for power status, LoRa signal, and fault notifications Power: Internal battery-powered operation Combined power/reset button preferred Processing: MCU/microcontroller of your choice (developer to recommend based on performance and power optimization) Operating Range: All components must operate reliably between 32°F to 185°F (0°C to +85°C) Additional Requirements: Custom PCB design to fit our existing IP67-rated enclosure (enclosure specs and samples will be provided) Secure OTA firmware update support Power-efficient design with diagnostics capability Designed to work with off-the-shelf LoRa gateways such as RAK7268/RAK7268C (WisGate Edge Lite 2) for initial development and testing (we can provide a unit if needed) Encrypted LoRa communication, exclusive to our private LoRa network Initial cloud integration with TagoIO or Grafana for proof of concept Capability to deliver 10–15 fully assembled sensor units for initial field testing (testing will be arranged locally by our team) Proposal Expectations: We kindly ask interested developers to submit a proposal that includes: A high-level project roadmap with estimated timelines for each development phase A cost estimate (including both development and hardware costs for the initial batch) Hardware recommendations where applicable If you have questions or need further clarification, feel free to reach out—we're happy to provide additional context to ensure alignment.
