Communications Manager - Email and Community Management

$15.00
Hourly: $15.00 - $20.00

We are looking for someone to lead communications for our group. Our organization runs a free supper club for a community of people. We host anywhere from 2-10 events monthly across the US. We have been doing this for 14 years, and LOVE it. The experience is about bringing strangers to connect deeply and become friends. We are looking for someone to help us with sending out templated invitations, confirmations, and follow-ups for those events, as well as complete basic research about the guests. Because there are so many guests and events, we are looking for someone who is: • Highly detail-oriented • Does well with written communication - There are a lot of questions asked by guests (we have templates to answer them) • Can follow clear instructions - All responsibilities are documented in a Standard Operating Procedure • Competent in the self-regulation of work. Technological Requirements: • Must have an understanding of UpWork software to track time with notes entered. • Computer (desktop or laptop) running MacOS or Windows. The person can NOT use a mobile device such as a phone, iPad or tablet. • Ability to use Chrome browser and proficiency in GSuite (aka Workplace) - including Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar • Ability to download a password keeper for shared account information • Comfortable using Zoom for communication with other team members Additional Requirements: • Must be based in the United States • Must be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing • Must be comfortable signing a nondisclosure agreement If the above requirements cannot be met, this job would not be a good fit. To ensure you have read this description, please address the application to Mr. Blue, otherwise, it will not be considered. Preferred, but not required: • Basic understanding of a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) Expectations: • Hours vary week to week, 35-40 hours per week • The schedule is flexible, with the expectation of task completion each day/week • Tasks are broken down into daily, weekly, and event-oriented. There is some work that would be needed over the weekend, so people who have questions aren't left without an answer. Onboarding and Training: • 1–2-week paid trial period, with daily training calls and check-ins • A full standard operating procedure that outlines all work will be provided. Anyone hired is expected to read the document and continuously return to it to ensure work is being done correctly.
