We are seeking an experienced accountant to provide essential accounting services for our start up. The ideal candidate should be adept in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax preparation for small businesses. You will help set up our accounting system, manage our financial records, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. A solid understanding of start-up financial needs and strategic insights will be helpful. Overview • Planned launch during June 2025 • 1 product the 1st year being a supplement product with focus on skincare and beauty • Monthly subscriptions, DTC only first year but likely add 1-2 retailers’ year 2 (Sephora typically being 1 of the 2) • I don’t see us selling outside the US market 1st year, though we may consider Canada • First 12 months projected revenue $2.4M and building a DTC subscriber base to about 10,000. Majority of this growth coming the last 6 months meaning for the calendar year 2025 we only expect about $450K. Project heavy growth year 2 to about $25M • First 6 months 1 employee (myself) but payroll is projected to only start month 5 or 6, and during the 1st year add 1 more employee • My partner will be a contracted working Chairman (residency is Rep of Panama) Account plan • We should build an account plan relevant to our business and activities. Assume you have a template for this? Assume it will make sense to simplify it for at least the first year? • How to make sure the different expenses are filed to the correct expense account? Should I mark the bank statement with the correct account or something similar? Can this be automated in some way where the supplier/expense is “pre-defined”? Services we need; • Monthly P/L reporting (like within 3 weeks into the new month) • Sales tax handling • End of year tax filing • Pay roll • Other reports TDB. Not sure here what Shopify provides of reports? I assume various monthly sales reporting can be extracted from Shopify like # of new subscribers, # of accumulated subscribers, monthly attrition from new subscribers and longer term subscribers etc.
