"Mile A Day" Graphic Design Art Piece

I would like to create a printed art piece to commemorate a "Mile A Day" running challenge my cousin took on. For 1300+ days straight, he ran a mile every day. I am envisioning a design consisting of a "dot" for each day he ran the mile. These dots could perhaps be arranged neatly in rows/columns. Or in the shape of a runner. Or a running shoe. And I think having some text like "One Mile At Time" or maybe simply the number of days. Or the number of feet he ran. Open to ideas and direction! Final deliverable would be a printable file that I can deliver to a print shop near me to be printed to my specifications.
