Content Writer/SME - Online Truancy Intervention Course (U.S. Residents Only)

The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, subject matter expertise in truancy (the root causes and evidence-based strategies for addressing it), and a passion for creating informative and engaging content. The course will be used primarily with students ages 12-17. It will most likely to be assigned by a school with a truant student or by a court that has become involved. We are looking for someone who will: 1. Find relevant and up-to-date research on truancy (causes, impacts, solutions) 2. Determine appropriate course topics 3. Write course content (in a Word doc) We have some course outline ideas, but are open to it being modified based on the research. The course length will probably be between 1 to 2 hours, depending what is learned during the content discovery phase. You will work under our on-staff instructional designer who can provide guidance and feedback. Most of the work will be independent, so a self-directed contractor is a must. We prefer to work with a fixed budget; however, we are open to hourly rates for the research phase if that is preferable.
