We’re in the process of building a custom home and are looking for an experienced interior designer and floor plan expert to guide us through design selections and help refine our architectural plans. We want someone who can help us make thoughtful, practical, and cohesive decisions — from finishes to layout — while keeping the overall style and function in mind. Scope of Work: Review architectural and floor plans to ensure flow, function, and aesthetic alignment Suggest layout improvements or room adjustments (e.g. window placement, storage optimization, traffic flow) Support design selections: flooring, cabinetry, tile, lighting, hardware, etc. Provide visual aids like mood boards, palettes, or 2D/3D renderings to help bring concepts to life Recommend high-impact, cost-effective materials and design choices Collaborate with us (and potentially our architect or builder) to make updates to the plans Work remotely via video, shared files, and messaging platforms Provide ongoing guidance as we finalize selections over the coming months Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in residential interior design and custom home planning Skilled in reviewing and modifying architectural/floor plans Able to translate vision into practical, buildable plans Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and construction Proficient in design and drafting software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) Organized, responsive, and great at virtual collaboration Bonus: Experience working directly with homeowners during new builds or renovations Project Details: Home Location: [City/State or Region, optional] Style: [Modern Farmhouse, Transitional, Traditional, etc.] Approx.
