(ORIGINALLY POSTED IN JANUARY 2025:) I own 2 Wordpress news websites and am seeking a developer to be on call (more or less). My websites are established: I am looking for someone to assist with routine maintenance and fixes. YOU SHOULD BE A SECURITY EXPERT. The reason I am seeking a new developer is because my sites have recently been hit multiple times with malware, and I need someone who can help prevent this from happening in the first place (as opposed to just removing it). (UPDATED APRIL 2025): my current developer switched us over from Siteground to WP Engine which is supposed to be the best option for maximum uptime and security. Yesterday (April 22), one of my websites went down for hours due to a corrupted WP Core File. The day before (April 22), the site went down due to Cloudflare issues (I think). I don't know where to place the blame, but the common denominator is that I've had the same developer this entire time, and the site has been crashing with both Siteground and WP Engine I need to make sure whoever I hire won't let things like this go down under their watch.
