Help with animations in Unity C#

We currently have a game or app in development but having some trouble with Animations. There are five (5) items we we need help with. Some maybe intertwined or related but they're aa follows: 1. Playing animation transitions from different layers. We have animations in different layers. We're trying to play the animation transition, first and then play an animation in the Base layer. However, the animation in the Base layer overrides the animation transition in the other layers, so the animation appears to skip the transition and just plays the Base layer animation. For example, we have an animation transition where a character is sitting on top of something and then jumps down to land on the floor. Afterwards, we call an animation in the Base Layer that has the character clapping. Rather than showing the character jumping down from sitting, it just shows the character standing on the floor clapping. 2. Another animation transition doesn't play consecutively. That is, after the 1st call to animation transition in another layer, all subsequent calls will not play. It appears that maybe the parameters are resetting or there maybe some interference with the layer? This could be related to the issue in Item #1? 3. We have a cylinder with a RigidBody that's tossed in the air by a character and lands on the floor. We would like to get the angle of the cylinder when it hits the floor and based on the angle, make the cylinder roll or spin on the floor. We're currently using the OnTriggerEnter() event to capture when a cylinder or Game Object lands on the floor. 4. When a character tosses the cylinder in the air to land on the floor, the OnTriggerEnter() event doesn't always fire. Sometimes multiple tosses have to made to capture the cylinder landing. The floor has a Box Collider and we adjusted the collider to fit the entire floor but to no avail.. 5. We have the character move their head up and down to follow the flight of a tossed cylinder. Based on the positioning of the character, the character's heads moves side to side rather than up and down. So, we would like to have that fixed, as well. Attached are four (4) videos that demonstrate the aforementioned issues.
