Architecture/Building Code Consultant

We're looking for a code consultant with strong experience in NYC residential and commercial renovation projects. Our work often includes reconfigurations of interior layouts, extensions to existing buildings, and sometimes change of use or changes to the Certificate of Occupancy (COO). You’ll be responsible for: - Reviewing proposed design plans early to identify potential DOB code and zoning issues - Advising on what filings or approvals may be required - Coordinating with the drafting team to advise what should be included in the permit set and ensure proposed designs are compliant from the start - Reviewing drawing sets prior to final submission and coordinating with the architect of record - Helping flag any red flags or complicated code interpretations ahead of time Requirements: - Deep knowledge of NYS DOB code and zoning regulations - Experience with residential renovations and building extensions - Understanding of filing types and DOB processes - Ability to collaborate with design and drafting teams * This is an ongoing, as-needed role with potential for long-term collaboration.
