Technical Lead Opportunity Project Overview The tech stack for this travel and tourism-related web project will be a React + Astro front-end and a self-hosted Strapi headless CMS. Our in-house design team will create 8–10 reusable page templates, and our developers will use these to build approximately 480 pages of content. What does this mean? Essentially, our in-house development team will handle the front-end development: they'll create the page templates in React/Astro and assemble all the pages. We are confident in their proven front-end skills. For your reference, a somewhat comparable site to the one we will build for our client is this one (but to the specs you see in this document): https://gohawaii.com/ Your Role: Technical Leadership & Oversight We are looking for a Technical Lead to guide us through the integration of Strapi with our front-end. This is a technical leadership and oversight role rather than a hands-on full development role. We will rely on your expertise primarily for: - Strapi CMS Setup & Configuration: Installing and configuring the Strapi CMS to fit our content needs (collections, single types, roles, permissions, etc.). - Connecting CMS to Front-End via GraphQL: Setting up secure GraphQL APIs in Strapi and linking them to our React/Astro front end, so the front-end templates fetch and display content correctly. - Content Integration: Ensuring that content from Strapi is correctly populated into the React/Astro templates. This includes the initial content population and verifying that as content updates are made in Strapi, they reflect properly on the site. - Code Review & Oversight: Periodically reviewing the in-house developers' work at checkpoints you would help define. At these milestones, you'll check the integration (and overall code quality) and recommend improvements or fixes. If any technical issues arise with the CMS integration or API usage, you'll either guide the team on how to fix them or (if absolutely necessary) step in to resolve them directly. In simpler terms, you won’t be building any pages yourself – our team is doing that heavy lifting. Your job is to ensure that the CMS is set up correctly, the front-end and CMS are talking to each other securely and efficiently, and everything stays on track technically. Think of it as the architect or mentor ensuring the house is built on a solid foundation.
