The mission of this role is to bring style backed by strategic thinking to our e-commerce site. We’re not looking for someone who just knows how to make things “look good”—we want a badass UX designer who understands why things go where they go, and how every design decision impacts performance. Elevate the entire customer journey—from homepage to checkout—using creativity, data, and direct-to-consumer experience. We’re aiming to increase conversion rate by 0.50%, improve product discoverability, and give our site a modern look that still feels intuitive and friction-free. Every design change should be thoughtful, intentional, and tested. If you know how to balance aesthetic instinct with analytical insight, and you’ve done it before for DTC brands, this is your kind of role. --- Job Title: UX Designer (E-commerce | DTC Focused) Location: Remote (US-based preferred) Contract Type: Freelance / Project-Based (with potential for ongoing work) Industry: E-commerce | Digital Privacy | Signal-Blocking Gear --- Overview: We’re a fast-growing brand on a mission to help people disconnect from the noise and take control of their privacy, security, and health. Our gear blocks signals (cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, EMF), and now we need a website that matches the innovation of our products. We’re looking for a badass UX Designer—someone who doesn’t just style pages, but strategically builds them. Creativity, data, and direct-to-consumer experience are a must. If you can't back up your design choices with analytics and strategic thinking, this isn’t the role for you. --- Scope of Work: - Audit & Analyze: - Review the current website experience from homepage to checkout - Identify friction points, drop-offs, and missed opportunities based on real user behavior and data - Design & Improve: - Develop a modern, customer-friendly site experience focused on product discovery, intuitive navigation, and faster checkouts - Create wireframes, prototypes, and finished designs with clear rationale behind placement, flow, and interaction - Optimize for Growth: - Aim to increase sitewide conversion rate by at least 0.50% through UX improvements - Recommend A/B tests and lightweight experiments to validate ideas - Ensure mobile and desktop experiences feel equally strong, fast, and intuitive --- Who You Are: - Proven DTC UX Designer with real-world examples of conversion wins - Strong portfolio that shows both creativity and strategic thinking - Comfortable using tools like Figma, GA4, Hotjar, CrazyEgg, or other behavior analytics platforms - Obsessed with the details—every button, every scroll, every micro-interaction matters - Must Have: Experience designing for Shopify sites. --- To Apply: Send us: - Your portfolio (case studies showing UX thinking + final designs) - A few examples of UX improvements you've made and the results you saw (conversion lift, bounce rate drop, etc.) - A short note on how you approach balancing creativity and analytics in your designs
