We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) instructor to deliver a live, remote, instructor-led training on Getting Started with 3D Printing for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. This hands-on, two-day course will focus on the Creality CR30 and Ender 3 Pro V3 3D printers, providing participants with technical proficiency, troubleshooting skills, and real-time application experience. Key Details: Training Dates: TBD in May (Scheduled after client-trainer meeting). Duration: Two days, 7 hours per day (6 hours of instruction + 1-hour break daily). Format: Live, remote training via an online platform. Compensation: $2,700 total (Includes $1,300 per day of training + $100 for a pre-training client meeting). Client: DoD personnel – professionalism, organization, and structured delivery are essential. Trainer Requirements: Must have access to both the Creality CR30 and Ender 3 Pro V3 at least 3 weeks before training. Participate in a required client-trainer Zoom meeting after contract start. Deliver a structured, professional, and interactive training session. Guide participants through a full 3D printing workflow, emphasizing hands-on applications. Provide troubleshooting guidance and real-time demonstrations. Course Outline: Day 1: Fundamentals & Equipment Mastery Introduction to 3D Printing & Objectives Overview of FDM printing with Creality CR30 & Ender 3 Pro V3 Safety protocols and material handling Printer Hardware & Setup Calibration, bed leveling, and nozzle alignment Routine maintenance and troubleshooting Filament & Material Science Comparing filament types (PLA, ABS, PETG, etc.) Storage and environmental considerations Loading/unloading filament & diagnosing filament issues Slicing Software & Print Optimization Walkthrough of Cura & Creality Slicer Optimizing print settings (layer height, infill, supports) Preparing models for printing Hands-on Printing & Troubleshooting Running test prints, analyzing failures (adhesion issues, warping, stringing) Adjusting settings for different projects Review & Q&A Assigning a custom print project for Day 2 Day 2: 3D Scanning, Customization & Advanced Techniques 3D Scanning & Workflow Integrating 3D scanning with printing Scanning best practices and hands-on demonstration Scan Data Processing & Model Preparation Cleaning, meshing, and refining scanned data Converting scans into STL files & importing into slicer software Custom Project Planning & Execution Applying modifications to scanned models Setting up complex prints Advanced Printing & Troubleshooting Printing scanned objects with live troubleshooting Adjusting settings for complex models Post-Processing & Finishing Techniques Sanding, assembling, and reinforcing prints Finishing coatings & treatments Final Review, Q&A & Best Practices Review of completed prints Discussion on long-term success strategies Ideal Candidate: Expert in 3D printing, specifically with Creality CR30 & Ender 3 Pro V3. Experience teaching structured, hands-on technical training remotely. Proficiency in slicing software (Cura, Creality Slicer) and STL file preparation. Strong ability to engage learners in an interactive, application-based approach. Prior experience working with government, military, or highly structured environments is a plus.
