NaturaLyte is seeking a talented and innovative Food Product Development Scientist/Formulator to help develop two cutting-edge hydration and wellness products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating scientifically-backed formulations that align with our brand's commitment to providing clean, natural, and effective hydration solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for functional foods, a deep understanding of natural ingredients, and a strong track record in food formulation. Key Responsibilities: • Research and identify the best natural ingredients for hydration and wellness products, focusing on electrolytes, vitamins, and functional ingredients. • Develop two hydration products that prioritize natural, clean-label ingredients while meeting performance, flavor, and consumer health needs. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the formulations align with NaturaLyte’s brand ethos of wellness, sustainability, and natural health benefits. • Perform sensory testing and iterate formulations based on feedback from both internal teams and external taste panels. • Support the transition from formulation to production by working with suppliers, manufacturers, and quality control teams to scale products. • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA) and proper documentation for labeling and claims (e.g., clean label, non-GMO, organic). Required Skills: • Proven experience in food science, formulation, and product development, particularly in the natural, wellness, or hydration space. • Expertise in working with functional ingredients, such as electrolytes, coconut water, vitamins, adaptogens, and natural sweeteners. • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and clean-label formulations. • Ability to create scalable, reproducible formulations and adapt to manufacturing challenges. • Strong analytical skills with experience conducting sensory testing, taste panels, and ingredient performance evaluations. • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, manufacturing, and quality control teams. Preferred Skills: • Experience in developing hydration or wellness beverages (e.g., natural energy drinks, recovery drinks). • Background in creating products with minimal or no added sugars, preservatives, or artificial ingredients. • Familiarity with sourcing and working with organic or non-GMO ingredients. • Ability to innovate with emerging functional ingredients or natural flavors.
