About Us GovPilot is a leading provider of cloud-based government management software, dedicated to streamlining operations and improving service delivery for local governments. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled ESRI GIS Specialist to lead the design, integration, and implementation of ESRI technologies within our new SaaS platform. This role will work closely with product managers, software engineers, and municipal stakeholders to translate geospatial requirements into scalable GIS solutions that enhance our platform’s capabilities. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the GIS subject matter expert during the planning, development, and deployment of the new platform. • Design and implement integrations between the ESRI ArcGIS ecosystem (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, REST APIs) and our SaaS architecture. • Collaborate with engineers and designers to define GIS-related data models, APIs, and user experiences. • Build mapping components and geospatial services to support municipal workflows such as parcel mapping, zoning, inspections, and infrastructure tracking. • Work with stakeholders to gather geospatial requirements and ensure solutions meet client and regulatory expectations. • Maintain GIS datasets, automate data ingestion, and ensure spatial data accuracy and performance. • Provide guidance on best practices for GIS governance, security, and scalability. Qualifications • 3+ years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS technologies, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, and ESRI APIs. • Strong understanding of GIS data formats (e.g., shapefiles, geodatabases, GeoJSON) and spatial analysis techniques. • Hands-on experience with ESRI web services and REST APIs, and integrating these into custom applications. • Familiarity with front-end mapping libraries such as Leaflet, Mapbox, or ESRI JavaScript API is a plus. • Proficient in Python or JavaScript for scripting and automation of GIS tasks. • Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus. Bonus Points • Experience working with or for local government clients. • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and deploying GIS services at scale. • Experience building GIS tools or platforms within SaaS ecosystems.
