Emerge Treatment is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Insurance Billing Specialist . The ideal candidate will bring expertise in medical billing, coding, and insurance claim processing to ensure accurate submission and timely reimbursement. This role is perfect for a dedicated professional who aligns with our mission of holistic, women-centered mental health care. This role will begin as a part-time freelance position, requiring approximately 10-20 hours per week, with the potential to expand into a full-time opportunity based on performance and business needs Key Responsibilities: Claims Processing: Accurately submit insurance claims (electronic and paper) for mental health services using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards. Insurance Verification: Confirm patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement. Payment Posting: Record payments from insurance companies and patients, reconciling accounts and identifying discrepancies. Denial Management: Identify, research, and resolve claim denials or underpayments through appeals and follow-ups with insurance carriers. Billing Inquiries: Respond promptly to patient and insurance company billing questions, providing clear and compassionate communication. Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information. Reporting: Generate and review aging reports, claim status reports, and other billing-related documentation to ensure financial health and accountability.
